Suzanne Doucet is an award winning composer, producer, recording artist and former pop star from Europe. Suzanne became one of the pioneers in the new age music industry in West Germany and is now recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the subject worldwide. Steven Halpern says in his foreword to the New Age Music Guide by P.J. Birosik, published by MacMillan "...explorers, who helped lay the groundwork for what we now term New Age Music include Kitaro, Andreas Vollenweider, Vangelis, C.H.Deuter, Klaus Schulze, Paul Horn, Suzanne Doucet, Brian Eno and Paul Winter." Suzanne's 30 years in the world of New Age music have provided her with incomparable knowledge, experience and contacts. Beyond being an award winning new age composer and producer and the founder of NewAgeMusic.com, Suzanne is an international recording and performing artist whose background encompasses being a prime time TV "Pop Show" host (guests included The BeeGees, The Grateful Dead, Keith Emerson, Donovan), a singer-songwriter, script writer, director, sound designer, publisher, creative consultant, and retailer. In the 1980s & 1990s, together with her husband James Bell, Suzanne owned and operated the world-famous specialized audio gallery "Only New Age Music" in Los Angeles. Seeing the future of online commerce, the partners traded the brick-and-mortar store for newagemusic.com - the #1 online source for new age music. Suzanne's latest recording credits include the album "Resonance" (available on Amazon) and the audio series "Sounds of Nature" (21 CDs 1997), "Tranquility" (21 CDs 1998) which combine the state-of-the-art binaural recordings of Chuck Plaisance with her music. Seven of the titles were in the top ten environmental charts at Amazon.com, ranking #1 and #2 for over one year. Additional credits include Shirley Maclaine's usage of Suzanne's music on her best-selling video and audio-cassette titled "Inner Workout." Suzanne also produced and directed the award-winning video "Starflight" along with Chris Toussaint. She has also been directing and producing several artist features, interviews and DVD projects with Beth Hilton since. Suzanne has been a creative consultant to hundreds of artists, producers, record labels, radio programmers, distributors and retailers. She is an expert on strategic marketing and developing and coordinating marketing and promotional campaigns together with a team of experts in the new age genre. She has been working on numerous mainstream and alternative marketing campaigns for independent labels and artists for over 20 years. Suzanne was part of the Presidential/Key Executive MBA Program at Pepperdine University, where she studied business administration. In Munich, Suzanne studied Psychology, as well as, Composition at the Munich State Conservatory.

What are your objectives and goals?

Create and co-create, communicate, help and assist other artists and labels with their production, promotion and marketing needs, establish another New Age Music Membership organization like the one we had in the late '80s, early '90s, organize events and meetings in Los Angeles and co-produce, direct another New Age Music Conference. Finish my book about New age Music in 2010!

What is your involvement with New Age Music

Suzanne Doucet, composer and producer founded the International New Age Music Network in 1987. She produced and directed three International Conferences and the first New Age/World Music Festival at the Wiltern Theater (featuring artists such as Paul Horn, Steven Halpern, Tim Wheater, Jai Uttal, a.o.). Life Magazine began their report on New Age Music with a quote from Suzanne Doucet; Keyboard Magazine acknowledged Suzanne for having "the most authoritative view on New Age Music," and the LA Times devoted a full page article to Suzanne in their Sunday Calendar section. In addition, magazines and TV production companies have interviewed her for their publications in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Greece, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. Suzanne is a long-time member of NARAS, helping to define the guidelines for New Age Music since 1987.
